This seminar will provide Governors with an essential legal update on the key issues effecting the sector; staff: hot topics and what’s on the horizon; TPS: current trends, options and strategy; EDI: why is it important and what should I know?; an essential safeguarding update as well as interactive safeguarding case studies.
Following on from the introduction of the EDI Toolkit with Farrers, this seminar will look at how to practically implement the toolkit. We will be joined by schools who have been working on applying the toolkit to share their experiences of their EDI journey. This seminar will offer practical hints and tips.
This seminar in association with Stone King, will look at a legal update, with a specific focus on change in emphasis and further proposed developments in the independent inspection regime, and the changes in safeguarding governance from 1 September under the updated version of Keeping Children Safe in Education. This seminar will also look at the wider emphasis on the safeguarding culture, the expectations around identifying and monitoring trends and look at some of the lessons coming out of recent casework.

This online seminar is aimed specifically at Governors with responsibility for boarding welfare, and safeguarding, but is also suitable for all Governors who need an in depth understanding around their responsibilities for safeguarding and meeting the needs of boarders at schools with boarding provision.
