A popular series of seminars provides updates and training for both new and established governors, clerks, heads and other members of the senior management team as well as those aspiring to these roles. The seminars are held in different locations across the UK and each offer talks by experienced governors and professionals. These seminars often offer time for organised discussion and problem-solving, as well as time for governors to share experiences on a more informal basis. Seminars usually start around 10.00 am for coffee and registration and conclude around 4.00 pm.

- TESTIMONIAL -
'Effective governance is integral to every school. Yet given the day to day pressures influencing schools, it is easy to lose sight of the educational landscape affecting a school's long term strategic goals. The AGBIS Strategy Seminar helped me reassess and refresh my insights into strategic thinking and governance, updating my professional expertise and capacity. I came away from the seminar with renewed understanding of how to be effective in fulfilling my responsibilities as a governor and re-energised for the tasks ahead'. - Peggy Field, Governor, Ditcham Park School -
As a former secondary head teacher and senior educational adviser, I wish to congratulate you on your first-class presentation 'Governors' Roles and Responsibilities'. The combination of information, knowledge and guidance was excellent, and extremely clear for governors whatever their background. The PowerPoint is a superb distillation of complex material, being both concise and comprehensive. It will empower course participants as they return to their work of governance in their own schools. - Peter Hawthorne, Governor, Wolverhampton Grammar School -
