Governance and Governors

In recent years The Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC) has co-sponsored a series of currently seven books on various areas of independent education published by John Catt Educational Ltd. The eighth and last book in the series ‘Leading Schools in the 21st Century’ was published in March 2012.

This is a joint venture between HMC and AGBIS which addresses aspects of  governance with the editorial work undertaken by Dr Nigel Richardson, a former Head of the Perse School, Cambridge. The various authors have contributed a chapter based substantially on their own experience and designed to inform readers, including governors of our schools, in a way which will complement, not replace, Guidelines for Governors.
