Concurrent with your induction process or as soon as possible after it you should register for the e-Learning Course for New Governors. This will give you an overview of the independent education sector as a whole, explain the vital distinction between governance and management, and provide other useful background on operating an independent school and key relationships.
Who Should Attend
The course is designed for new Governors. However, we recognise that Clerks and existing Governors would also like to participate and they are welcome to do so.
Individual registration is required. This will allow the course administrator to monitor your progress, and to notify the school when you have completed the course, so that its Governing Body Training record can be updated.
AGBIS Members/Non-Members
The e-Learning Course for New Governors is free to AGBIS Members. If your school/college is not a Member of AGBIS, the e-Learning course is chargeable.
